No sábado visitei o Via Funchal, em São Paulo, para ver o show do Blind Guardian. A casa de shows faz jus à fama, é a melhor que já visitei. Acústica ótima (som vindo de todos os lados e sem distorção nenhuma), pista bem feita. O show foi praticamente perfeito. O bateirista oficial se machucou e não pode vir, mas foi bem substituído pelo batera do Rhapsody.
Tocaram poucas músicas do álbum novo, o que foi bem adequado porque muitas delas não são boas para show e outras tantas tem um "coral de fundo" que não teria como fazer ao vivo. Das antigas, tocaram quase todas as minhas preferidas. Pra mim só faltou mesmo "Time Stand Still", que fala da batalha de Fingolfin contra Morgoth, minha cena preferida do Tolkien. O público conhecia as músicas e acompanhou quase todas. Cantaram "Happy birthday" e "Parabéns a você" para o Hansi, que estava de aniversário. Destaque para "The Bard's Song", cantada do início ao fim pela platéia inteira. O vocalista inclusive parou de cantar durante uma boa parte da música porque ficou emocionado. E o melhor, como sempre, no final: Mirror Mirror, a música que me fez começar a ouvir BG e que, por sinal, tem tudo a ver com Gondolin. Certamente uma das minhas músicas preferidas. Para quem não conhece a banda, é uma ótima forma de começar.
