XING

I was really puzzled by that word that I saw in many streets here in Redmond: XING. Sounds Chinese, but why would Americans use that? Didn't make any sense to me. Then today I had a moment of enlightenment: X stands for cross. Therefore "xing" means "crossing." Brilliant, am I not?
